I’m Pamela, your neighborhood Postpartum Doula. I’ve had a passion and love for children since I was a child myself. The moment I could, I found myself working with toddlers and small children - starting at the age of 14. I’ve worked with infants in day care centers, toddlers in summer programs, and children of all ages at the church I grew in.
I’m Haitian, and in my culture, we rally around families during the postpartum period. My community has always championed providing as much support as possible during this sacred time. As I grew into adulthood, I realized how much in-home support was lacking for infants and their parents. Not soon after, my first thoughts about Safe Haven Perinatal Services came to mind.
I pride myself on having a parent-centered approach. I believe that when the birthing parent especially, is supported and stable, the baby and rest of the family thrives. I proudly serve families of all kinds, regardless of race, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and any other demographics. I am a CAPPA certified postpartum doula and infant and adult CPR certified through the American Heart Association. I am based in Brooklyn, NYC and serve all of the boroughs in addition to the entire NYC Metro area.
